LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) Speech and Drama examinations are internationally-recognised qualifications, with the higher grades even worth UCAS points (a long way off, but good to know!)
LAMDA is the oldest drama school in the UK, having provided practical examinations in communication and performance for over 130 years. At the heart of LAMDA examinations is the recognition that the qualifications are for everyone. The examinations unite learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and cultures in enthusiasm for the English language and a desire to develop skills for life.
Our LAMDA training is complemented by the skills developed in our after-school ShowKids workshops, so this provision is only available to children currently attending these. The examination your child is entered for will be dependent on their age, confidence and ability (as assessed by our practitioners) however we expect to initially enter most children for Entry-level Acting Solo or Grade 1-6 Acting solo.
The total cost for parents is £315, paid in a single payment. This includes:
- 10 weekly 20-minute online one-to-one rehearsals at a time convenient to parents
- One final Saturday in-person rehearsal
- In-person examination with the examiner at one of our local centres
