Fresh air on the doorstep: Ainslie Wood and Larks Wood are right next to the school. They’re real old woodland, perfect for a muddy wander or a stick hunt while you wait for a workshop to finish! A bit further up is Highams Park itself, with the lake, a great playground and a stretch of Epping Forest tacked on the end. Grab a tea and a scone at Humphry’s Café at the bottom of the park!
Something for everyone: Ridgeway Park near the top of Chingford Mount has a miniature railway that’s been going since the 1940s. They run rides on Sunday afternoons in spring and summer, and the kids will love it. Memorial Park on Chingford Mount Road has a good playground too!
